Local Photo Courses

Face-to-face and hands-on photography courses.
To meet demand for tuition in digital photography locally, we have been offering photography courses at the Balsam Centre in Wincanton, Somerset.

Currently there are two courses on offer which are intended to cover different aspects of modern digital (and film) photography whilst at the same time complementing each other.

Creative Photography is a course designed to help you make the most of your eye, your imagination and your camera. In a series of six sessions, it covers: how to use your camera controls creatively, how to compose an alluring image, how to look and see the light and how to look for and use evocative and striking subject matter.

The course runs for two hours one evening a week and the next course is due to start on Wednesday 4th June 2008 at 7.00 pm. Cost £45

The Digital Darkroom is intended to help the amateur photographer made good use of image processing packages such as Adobe Photoshop and other packages (some of which are available as free downloads from the internet!). It is about enhancing images and not about gimmicks. The course is led by a professional photographer who will show the student how to enhance all types of image - perfect portraits and dramatic landscapes, simple snapshots and stunning fine art images.

The next course is due to start on Monday 16th June 2008 at 7.00pm. There are five two-hour sessions and each student will have access to a computer. Cost £50.
